Today, New York City voters handed control of America’s iconic financial and cultural capital to radical communist Zohran Mamdani. With limited real-world work experience, Mamdani will now oversee a city with more than 300,000 employees and one of the world’s largest budgets — as if running a global metropolis were an entry-level job.
“Mamdani is now the face of the Democrat Party. Florida Democrat Party Chair Nikki Fried may not realize it yet, but she has a new boss — and if history tells us anything about socialists and communists, it’s that they rarely surrender power willingly,” said Evan Power, Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida.
“It’s tragic that the world’s capital of business and finance will now be led by someone who openly talks about ‘seizing the means of production.’ And make no mistake — the same radical agenda Mamdani is pushing in New York is exactly what Nikki Fried and Florida Democrats want to bring here. Meanwhile in Florida, we know freedom, limited government, fewer regulations, and low taxes are the path to prosperity. That’s why Florida wins — and will continue to win.”
Mamdani has advocated for targeting certain neighborhoods based on race with higher property taxes, freezing rents, offering free childcare and bus service, implementing cashless bail, and even establishing government-run grocery stores — a list that reads like a socialist experiment, not sound governance.
Concerns about Mamdani’s history of antisemitic rhetoric have been widely documented, with more than 1,000 American rabbis warning that Jews would not be safe in New York under his leadership. Still, top Democrat leaders enthusiastically rallied behind him — including Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Senator Bernie Sanders. Even former President Barack Obama personally offered praise for Mamdani’s campaign.
“New York chose radicalism. Florida chooses freedom. That’s the difference,” Power added. “While Nikki Fried and her party look north for inspiration, Florida will continue championing opportunity, safety, and the American Dream.”
