The Republican Party of Florida is demanding answers ahead of a rare televised House Ethics Committee hearing this week into serious allegations that Florida Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick stole millions in FEMA funds, using taxpayer dollars meant for disaster relief to bankroll her campaign and fund luxury purchases.
She must resign.
This is not a minor ethics question. It is an accusation of stealing from Americans in their time of need.
Floridians deserve to know where Congressman Darren Soto and Congressman Jared Moskowitz stand. Will they condemn this alleged abuse of disaster relief funds and call for her resignation, or will they continue to stay silent to protect a fellow Democrat?
“Darren Soto and Jared Moskowitz cannot hide from this,” said Evan Power. “If they refuse to speak out against allegations of stealing FEMA funds and won’t call for her resignation, they are choosing party loyalty over the people they represent. Silence in the face of this kind of corruption is not just weak. It is a betrayal of every Florida taxpayer.”
The Republican Party of Florida will continue to demand full transparency and accountability.
