The longest government shutdown in American history was created and prolonged by Democrats, and every single Florida Democrat in Congress voted to keep it going. While a handful of Democrats across the country finally broke ranks and helped reopen the government, Florida Democrats chose blind obedience to their failed party leaders over doing what’s right.

Federal workers missed paychecks. Families relying on SNAP suffered. Critical services stalled. And still, Florida Democrats stood with the extremists responsible for the shutdown, not with the people they represent.

“Florida Democrats sided with the chaos caucus and voted to keep the government closed. They failed Florida families, and next November, they’ll answer for it.”

Finally a few Democrats broke from the far-left, joining Republicans and delivering the votes needed to reopen the government and restore stability. Florida Democrats refused. We must send them a clear message.
