RPOF Demands Immediate Removal of Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick After $5M FEMA Fraud Indictment

Democrat Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick has been indicted and accused of stealing $5 million in FEMA disaster funds and laundering it into her campaign—money meant for hurricane victims, not for her political slush fund.

And this isn’t the first time Florida Democrats have been tied to misusing taxpayer relief funds. Voters remember when the Florida Democratic Party wrongly took PPP money meant for small businesses, using our tax dollars for their political gain. Now a Democratic member of Congress stands accused of looting FEMA itself.

RPOF Chairman Evan Power stated:

“Florida Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick allegedly stole from disaster victims to buy political power. It is one of the most disgraceful abuses of public trust in Florida history. She must resign immediately, and if she refuses, Congress must expel her. She must be held accountable.”

The Republican Party of Florida demands accountability and for fraudulent activity to not be swept under the rug as done for the Florida Democrat Party in years past. The alleged crime committed by Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick is egregious and must be prosecuted to the fullest extent. Floridians will not forget the fraudulent actions of the Florida Democrats and their members come next November.
