Rocky Hanna Delays Teacher Pay Raises, Hurting Our Educators

Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power today slammed Leon County Superintendent Rocky Hanna for holding teacher pay raises hostage for years:

“Governor Ron DeSantis delivered the funding to raise teacher salaries quickly and competitively, but Rocky Hanna chose politics over our teachers. Year after year, he has delayed the Teacher Salary Increase Allocation, forcing hardworking educators to wait for raises they already earned and the law requires,” said Chairman Evan Power.

“While other districts acted quickly to put money in teachers’ pockets, Hanna dragged his feet out of loyalty to the union, not the people he serves. His reckless alliance has punished both teachers and students. Educators shouldn’t have to beg or wait years for what is rightfully theirs.”

Power added: “Florida Republicans stand with teachers. The Left stands with the unions. Rocky Hanna has failed the very people he claims to support. Enough is enough. Leon County must stop the excuses and deliver the raises teachers deserve.”
