The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) today congratulated The Honorable Sean Duffy on his appointment as Interim Administrator of NASA and joined the Republican delegation in calling for the relocation of the agency’s headquarters from Washington, D.C. to Florida.

To celebrate Florida’s dedication to the Space Coast and the determination of Republican leadership to deliver on this vision, the RPOF has launched a new line of gear featuring a space elephant over the great state of Florida. The merchandise is now available on the Florida GOP store.

In a letter to Administrator Duffy, RPOF Chairman Evan Power emphasized that Florida is home to the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral, making it the best choice for NASA’s permanent headquarters. This move would reduce bureaucratic overhead, place the agency closer to its operational infrastructure, and leverage Florida’s growing commercial space sector.

“Florida is the launchpad of American space innovation,” said Chairman Power. “Our Space Coast is already home to the nation’s most advanced aerospace activity. Bringing NASA’s leadership here just makes sense.”

Florida’s pro-growth policies, low-tax climate, and skilled workforce are just another benefit for the move.

“Florida is the gateway to space,” said U.S. Senator Ashley Moody. “This commonsense proposal would save taxpayers money, encourage collaboration with private space companies, and tap into Florida’s talented workforce to spur further innovation.”

“There’s no better place for NASA’s headquarters than Florida’s Space Coast, where our nation’s brightest minds innovate and help America reach for the stars,” said U.S. Senator Rick Scott.

Chairman Power concluded the letter by reaffirming Florida’s commitment to freedom, fiscal responsibility, and limited government—values that align with NASA’s mission to explore space and reach new heights.
