As Florida enters the busiest weeks of spring break, Jared Moskowitz and Darren Soto are allowing chaos at our airports while communities across the state prepare for millions of visitors who fuel Florida’s tourism economy. Their obsession with putting illegal aliens over Americans has once again led to a pointless government shutdown that hurts Floridians.

The Democrat government shutdown over the Department of Homeland Security is forcing TSA agents to work without pay, causing staffing shortages and longer security lines just as families travel and Florida communities rely on spring break tourism to support local jobs and small businesses.

“TSA agents shouldn’t be missing paychecks while politicians in Washington play games,” said Chairman Evan Power. “Jared Moskowitz and Darren Soto know ICE is already funded. They know this shutdown is pointless. Yet they keep it going anyway. That’s cowardly leadership and it shows exactly how little they care about Florida families, workers, and the communities that depend on tourism.”

The Republican Party of Florida calls on Moskowitz and Soto to end the political games, stop this reckless shutdown, and ensure TSA agents receive the pay they have earned.
