Another Florida GOP Flip: WINDERMERE GOES REPUBLICAN

The Florida Republican Party is celebrating another Republican flip, this time in the Town of Windermere, as Andy Williams becomes Mayor following the close of candidate qualifying on Friday.

With incumbent Democrat Jim O’Brien choosing not to seek re-election, Williams qualified without opposition, officially flipping the mayor’s office to Republican control for the first time since 2019.

“This Republican flip in Windermere underscores the reality on the ground in Florida,” said Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power. “With a 1.4 million voter registration advantage, Republicans are no longer conceding any county – even in once deep-blue Orange County. We are competing everywhere, and voters are turning to Republican leadership focused on accountability, fiscal discipline, and common sense.”

The Florida Republican Party congratulates Mayor-Elect Andy Williams and looks forward to working with him as he serves the residents of Windermere.
